For my first project, I want to focus on the idea of mixing organic elements and non-organic elements. This will play along with the idea of glitching, as it adds a non-natural element to 'normal' images. I like the idea of mixing natural subjects (like animals, flowers, literal nature, etc) with non-natural added characteristics. Specifically in this project this will look like glitches, abnormal/unrealistic color patterns and additions, or depicting natural elements in non-organic styles. In the past, I have been very drawn to flowers, and have enjoyed adding faces and other non organic elements onto them to add to their meaning. For this project I am very inspired by similar ideas and want to build off of this idea.
For one of my photo series that I am going to include, I am going to use a colorful photo of flowers as my base photo, and then create a series of glitched variations that slowly become more and more warped. The last photo of the series will hopefully be unrecognizable without the context of the first few photos in the series. I think I will repeat this process with a few other photos with organic shapes/subject matter. I will probably feature a series with a sea creature of sorts, one land animal, and probably a few more flower photos or other plant like subjects. I also want to make a gif of a series of a few different frames that mix natural pictures/graphics with words. I think this combination of words and images alludes to my theme of the mix of the natural and non-natural world, and how the combination of their features together can look different in many way. I will likely depict elements such as stars in a glitched or pixelated style to contradict their organic routes.
