For this project, I was very inspired by the piece shown in class of the shelves hung up on the wall with moving elements projected onto it. I particularly liked the piece where the shelves were made into a maze like obstacle course and little characters were projected onto the piece. I liked the way the characters were shown as if they were crawling/climing across the shelves/obstacles even though in reality they were flat. I was also inspired by the wedding cake projection shown in class where the projections made the cake look like it was moving. At one point, the cake had a pac man game projected onto it with ghosts roaming in and out of each compartment. I really like the dynamic element this borought into the piece and am thinking of incorporating some sort of video game aspect into my piece as well. I might even actually add pac man because the way the game is set up to look like tunnels/a course could work really well projected on a wall of shelves to bring them to life. I think I am going to go to the thrift store or the dollar store to try to find some old shelves or anything that I can mount onto the wall to make a maze like structure/something that a projected subject could climb or weave through.
