For my final project, I decided to include two series of intentionally glitched photos, two animated glitch gifs, one 'infinite' loop video, and one data mosh video. The theme of all the components I included was showcasing a synergy of the natural world/forms with non natural aspects. For example, the first gif has mountains in the background and peacock-like features surrounding a man, while also incorporating glitches and words to represent non organic aspects. It also features stars, however they are pixelated and shown in vibrant colors to counteract their natural feel. My second gif similarly features a flower, however it has an x-ray like feel from the glitches and dark background to represent non-natural features. This same theme is shown in my photo series, as the first photo of both the jellyfish and flowers I chose seem fairly natural and normal, and then slowly become more distorted and artificial through pixel sorting. My infinite loop video combines natural scenes such as a flower field and an underwater environment with artificial/technology linked aspects such as a TV in the middle of the field and a camera placed at the center of the fish tank. Lastly, the data moshing video I included is intended to show human figures slowly morphing into non-natural/organic shapes and objects. My inspiration came from the results I got from my pixel sorting images (which I am including below), as all my original photos featured organic forms and through my experimentation they became more and more alienated and less recognizable. I found this very intriguing and it inspired this theme through the rest of my works.
